Selecting a Good Auto Transport Service

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

Auto transport Service is an invaluable service in the world today. The need for car shippers has increased over the years and as a result, many transport companies have sprung up. There is much competition the industry and much to consider when choosing the right auto transport service for your needs when shipping a car. Choosing the right car mover can be difficult if your not prepared. Here is a list of some of the more important things you will want to know in order to make a more informed decision.

1) Does the auto transport service have a license and insurance?
Insurance is the one thing that will protect you if something were to go wrong, so this is something you want to make sure of, and of course you want to make sure your car mover is licensed, this will tell you that they are legal and there is a better chance they know what they are doing.

2) You will of course want to know how much will it cost and what type of payment is required?
Although the cost of shipping a car is not the most important thing to consider when you are ready to ship your car it is very important and should be on the top of your list. Most dependable auto shippers will quote you a price by phone and require a deposit if you decide to use them. Making a deposit will ensure you a spot on the main dispatch board and begin the expediting process.

3) Were do you pick up my from and were will it be dropped off?
You will want to know the answer to this question because some auto transport service companies will have you drive the car to there terminal at the point of origin and then at the point of destination they will have you pick the car up at there terminal again. If you are looking to have your car picked up at a specific location and dropped off at a specific location, you will need to work that out with the auto transport service.

Prices of Trucks

Sunday, April 11th, 2010

There are basically three factors or determinants of truck prices. They are the size of the truck, style and engine strength of a truck as engine is the most important part of any vehicle without which it can not run.

When we talk about size the compact models are logically going to be lower priced than the medium or the large models as there is a difference in space, comfort and application. The compact version would be around $15000 where as a full-size truck will cost approximately $30,000.

Also the range of styles is widening as there is continuous technological development and the customer is looking for something different and out of the box all the time. A reason for this could be that trucks or vehicles that one owns have become a power and status symbol. Especially brands such as chevy pickup and Ford. 2010 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ is a new model with a new style. But, if competitors come up with a truck with the same features and style it is not necessary that the price is going to be the same as well, as prices depend on brand names too.

As mentioned earlier engine configuration of a truck matters a lot when pricing is being done. The better an engine i.e. six cylinder, V8s and V10s, the higher will be the price of the vehicle. This also means that the truck is larger in size and capacity. A Chevrolet Silverado is a 6.0 liter Vortec V8 gasoline engine and is priced at $ 34,870.

Prices of pickup trucks are determined by their size, style and engine configuration. However, vehicles with identical specifications may differ in price from one brand to another. For instance a Ford and chevy pickup, having identical qualifications would have a considerable price difference. The diehard chevy fans will always go for the Chevrolet however, while the Ford fans will not budge from their beloved Ford pickups.
